Arabella de luxe

My father’s first new car was a diamond black Arabella 45 de luxe, built in 1961, with lots of chrome, of course. Numerous holiday trips with the family and 14 years later, the rust was all over and it had to be shut down for a while. At the beginning of the 80s the restoration began. The vehicle was completely disassembled in all its parts, the chassis completely freed from rust, new sheets formed where it was necessary and after sweaty welding work, finally completely re-primed. Many parts had to be procured again, others had to be completely refurbished and overhauled. After all the Arabella was brought back to life and shines today as beautifully as on the first day. Many spare parts, components, etc. were collected over times, always predominantly Borgward and Lloyd vehicles, but not only.
